Introduction: Who is Bar Path Fitness? What is our mission?

We figured we should start our blog by introducing ourselves, our business, goals, and what we are trying to accomplish.

My name is Katie Kollath.  I come from humble beginnings – raised in a small town right outside the great city of Chicago – but I’ve always had a passion for physical activity and living a healthy lifestyle, even at a young age. My credentials include a Master’s degree in Health & Human Performance. I am a certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, fitness/nutrition specialist, and soon to be Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. I am a competitive powerlifter who also has a love for bodybuilding and Olympic lifting as well.



My name is Heather Hamilton.  As a certified Exercise Physiologist with a Master’s degree in Applied Health Science, a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology and ten years of experience working in the fitness industry, I feel confident in my ability to deliver solid educational material about health and fitness.  I have been a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor since I started my professional journey during my undergraduate studies. I am a past nationally qualified NPC competitor in the figure division and I hold four Illinois state records in Powerlifting from USA Powerlifting.

Being strong, physically and mentally, is something that constantly motivates us. We don’t only want to be strong in the gym, we want to be strong for other women in this industry and help them turn weaknesses into strengths. Our goal is to educate women (and men) from all walks of life that we, as females, have amazing strength and potential and that we need to be training, eating, and using proper supplementation in order to reach our goals. We want to help all women, regardless of fitness level or place in their fitness journey - whether it’s competing in bikini/figure/physique competitions, prepping for powerlifting meets, improving body composition, or just general training and conditioning. We structure all of our programs around solid strength and conditioning principles and proven methods.  

We are here to provide the facts. We are not a gimmick. We aren’t promoting ourselves to be a new trend, but to show women and men that to get results your training and preparation should be based off of what has been proven to work.  We build programs and provide information based off of real scientific principles as well as our own knowledge and experience.

The path to self-discovery is never easy. It can be difficult to start and even harder to continue, but somewhere in the middle, you fall in love with the process and the work no longer becomes an inconvenience. We want to help people - especially women - find that. It starts with a solid foundation and knowledge of basic training principles. We hope that the weekly blog posts, daily updates on our training, and future programs and services (along with a few collaborations), will help you fall in love with your training.
